OUR PARISH
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church was founded in 1976 through the hard work, commitment and fellowship of our parish founders in Arlington, Texas. That spirit has resonated throughout our almost 50 years. Our dynamic parish has flourished to educate Catholics and serve our community for generations. We started in a small warehouse on Arkansas Lane, grew to a multi-purpose room on our current campus, then completed our 1,000-seat main church with chapel, offices, classrooms and nurseries in 1984. We expanded again in 1999 adding more seats to the sanctuary, more meeting space, a new chapel and our Johnson Activity Center. Today, our parish continues to serve over 3,100 registered families in a multitude of programs for all ages, sharing the faith and fellowship that makes St. Vincent de Paul such a vibrant Catholic Community.
OUR CHALLENGE
Since our last expansion and remodel nearly 23 years ago, we have actively served our community and sought to be faithful stewards of your financial contributions. Countless families have praised, prayed, mourned, been comforted, and celebrated within our Church building. However, as our building ages, its capital needs have grown beyond what can be covered by regular operating expenses. Our Church sanctuary and narthex are in dire need of a refresh and remodel. With these renovations, we plan to address crucial issues and seek to enhance our physical space for the benefit of our current members and to attract the next generation of parishioners. With your help, these renovations will allow us to continue to serve you and your loved ones well into the future.
Our Solution
Through prayerful consideration and with the encouragement of our parishioners, we are undertaking a Capital Campaign to address these concerns. In consultation with the Diocese of Fort Worth, architects, and various stakeholders, we have developed detailed plans to revive our physical space. Our plans include substantial upgrades to the sanctuary including the back wall, altar area, tabernacle, carpet, pews, baptismal font, ceiling repairs, sound and lighting. Additionally, we hope to add a cupola to enhance our narthex and undertake a much-needed renovation of our restrooms. Construction will take approximately seven months to complete. Finally, we plan to establish a building endowment to provide funds for ongoing maintenance and future projects.
