Our PK3, PK4, STEAM 4, and Homeschool Wednesday students all attend the Atrium as part of their school day.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based approach to the religious formation of children, rooted deeply in Scripture, Liturgy, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. It provides a special, hands-on environment—called the Atrium—where children can grow in their relationship with God at their own pace.
In the Atrium, children are introduced to the life and teachings of Jesus, the liturgical life of the Church, and the mysteries of the Kingdom of God through quiet reflection, prayer, and beautifully crafted materials. The central image is Jesus as the Good Shepherd—who knows each of His sheep by name, loves them deeply, and calls them to follow Him.
CGS nurtures a sense of wonder, reverence, and joy in young children as they explore the Word of God and the rituals of the Church in a way that speaks to their hearts.
“He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out...” — John 10:3
